Sunrise in Ahu Tongariki

Maururu Travel invites you to see one of the most beautiful sunrises of the world in Ahu Tongariki, the most sacred sacred platform of the island with 15 huge moai, being visited by thousands of tourists every year who arrive there in order to witness the sunrise, and immortalize this natural spectacle in a photograph.

Sunrise transfer to Tongariki

We start the tour from your hotel to take you to the Ahu Tongariki, where you can enjoy the view of the sunrise while accompanying you to the warmth of a hot tea or coffee that we offer as a courtesy; Once the sunrise is over, we return to Hanga Roa leaving you at your hotel again.

• The price of the ticket for adults is $ 20,000 pesos.
• Children from 0 to 5 years old do not pay, from 5 to 10 years they pay 50% of the value and from 10 years onwards they pay the adult rate.
• Discounts for groups of 3 people and up!
• We leave from Monday to Saturday (schedule to be defined depending on the time of year).

We also have regular or private excursions guided by our experienced team of guides and drivers, who take you to discover the archaeological remains and the evidence through which we will reveal the enigmatic history of the ancient Rapanui civilization. Among these excursions we have:

1. Full day tour with picnic lunch

• Duration ≈ 6 hours.
• Includes: country lunch in Rano Raraku.
• Not included: the ticket of the Rapa Nui National Park.
• Regular tour price: USD $ 65 or $ 40,000 CLP.

Departing from your hotel between 09:00 and 09:30 h we will head towards the east coast passing through Ahu Akahanga, a place where is the tomb of the mythical King Hotu Matu’a, we follow the route towards Ahu Tongariki the most extensive sacred platform from the island with 15 moais, then we will visit the Rano Raraku Volcano to show you how the extraordinary work of extraction and carving of the stone giants was, and we will also have our picnic time to continue to Te Pito Kura, where the magnetic stone is located and the tour ends at the Anakena beach, where we will visit the Ahu Nau Nau and also spend a pleasant time of bathing and relaxation.

2. Orongo Half Day Tour

• Duration ≈ 3 hours.
• Not included: the ticket of the Rapa Nui National Park.
• Regular tour price: USD $ 30 or $ 20,000 CLP.

Looking for you at your hotel between 09:00 and 09:30 h, we first visit the Rano Kau Volcano whose crater is a natural greenhouse that contains endemic plant species and is the largest source of fresh water on the island; We continue to the Orongo ceremonial village to tell you the story of the Tangata Manu or the Bird Man competition and we will finish the tour in Vinapu.

3. Akivi Half Day Tour

• Duration ≈ 3 hours
• Not included: the ticket of the Rapa Nui National Park.
• Regular tour price: USD $ 30 or $ 20,000 CLP.

Passing to your hotel at 3:00 p.m., we visit the Ahu Akivi, where the seven explorers or seven moais who look towards the ocean and who are believed to demarcate the position of the original island of the first “Hiva” rapanuis. Continuing towards Puna Pau, volcano of red scoria where the headgear or pukao of the moais were made and we finished in the Ahu Huri to Urenga, whose four-armed moai is also called the astronomer since it is aligned with southern winter solstice (June 21st).

4. Hiking to the caves

Duration ≈ 4 hours
Not included: the ticket of the Rapa Nui National Park.

This is a private tour that takes you through the most difficult to find caves and we design the itinerary according to your tastes and preferences.

5. Hiking to the Terevaka or Poike volcanoes

We will ascend to the two highest peaks of Easter Island, the Terevaka and Poike volcanoes, whose eruptions originated the present territory of Rapa Nui.

6. Hanga Oteo hiking

It is the longest circuit we offer from the town to Anakena along the north coast, where it is not possible to get there by vehicle. We will take you by car to Ahu Te Peu from where the coastal walk begins through Hanga Oteo.
