Ara Moai Hop On Hop Off Bus
Come discover Rapa Nui in a unique way, visiting the main tourist attractions of the island on our tour bus Ara Moai (which means Moai Road in Rapa Nui language).
The Ara Moai is a form of lying moai open bus, from which you can enjoy the wonderful views from our island at 360°, while you travel comfortably in the category “Hop on Hop off”, that means, you can get on and get off as many times as you want during the day. In addition we offer you an audio guide multi language (Spanish, English, French and German) through which you can listen to a brief overview of each of the places we passed.
Our itinerary is circular and covers the most important points of Hanga Roa, starting in the Catholic Church and through the cemetery, the Hanga Roa harbour, the Taha Tai Hotel, Pont Avenue and the airport. From there we headed to the east coast to reach Vaihu, Akahanga, Te ara o te moai, the Rano Raraku volcano, Ahu Tongariki, the Poike volcano, Pu o Hiro, Papa Vaka and Te Pito Kura, to reach the beautiful beaches of Ovahe and Anakena. Once back, we follow the inner path of the island, through Maunga Pu’i, Vaitea, the Puna Pau volcano and Ahu Akivi, to finish in the Catholic church, where the tour starts again.
We offer 3 daily tours (from Monday to Saturday provided if there is a minimum of 10 people with prior reservation), departing from the church at 9:00 am, 11:05 am and 3:00 pm.
The frequency of the bus is approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes, which will allow you to get off at emblematic points such as the Rano Raraku volcano, visit the famous quarry of the moai and then take the next bus to continue your journey, to Te Pito Kura to walk to Anakena or directly in Anakena.
